About Camp Clover:

Camp will take place June 24-26, 2023 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park.

This youth outdoor camp was created by a neighboring county with the idea of including our youngest members known as “Clover Kids.” Often, the Clover Kids don’t get to participate in events outside the county level because of liability. However, with the procedures we put in place for this camp and all the wonderful volunteers, we made it possible! Camp and Franklin County come together annually to hold this camp at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. Participants need not be a current member of 4-H! All youth are invited!

Activities include fun and educational activities. Some examples include: fishing, plant identification, scavenger hunts, wildlife tracking and identification, boat and shelter building, creativity building, competitions among small groups, healthy snack making, outdoor cooking, fire safety, t-shirt design, and supervised free-time at the playground.

Once registered, please fill out the additional forms listed above. You may bring them with you on the first day of camp or you may email them to Shelby.lovelady@ag.tamu.edu

Attire- Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and at the bare minimum a sandal with a back is preferred. We will be moving and active so flip flops aren’t the best choice. Each registrant will receive a camp t-shirt, they are expected to wear for the duration of camp.

Expectations- Participants are expected to follow the 4-H Code of Conduct. It is one of the required forms with a signature of acknowledgement. If we have an issue with your child’s conduct, they will be sent home and not welcomed back for the remainder of camp. If your child needs a modification or accommodation to ensure a positive experience, please let the agent know ahead of time. If you don’t want your children’s photographs shared, please specify that on the media release form.

Food and Drink- Food will be simple as we are cooking on the park grill and providing additional pre-packaged foods. If your children have dietary restrictions, please mention on the registration and consider sending lunch with them. If not, I cannot ensure that they won’t receive something that could potentially cause an issue.

Please send refillable water bottles with your child. There will be a water jug available to refill their bottles, it is important that they stay hydrated.

On the final day of camp there will be a snow cone trailer set up, camp registration fee incudes one snow cone per participant.

Arrival and Departure- Participants may be dropped off at the pavilion at the state park. Let the park ranger at the entrance know they are here for Camp Clover. Volunteers will be there by 7:30am to check the participants in. Pick up will start at 11:30. Parents and siblings may stay for the duration of camp if desired, however no additional lunches will be provided.

Please contact us directly at least one week prior to the event for any special accommodations.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We are glad to have you back for our annual event!
